The Falcon’s Nest is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with Down Syndrome and their families. Through fundraising efforts, we provide financial assistance to families for medical expenses, therapy, additional living expenses, and special education. We also work to increase awareness and acceptance of Down syndrome within our community, and advocate for the rights of individuals with Down syndrome. With your support, we can continue to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of those affected by Down syndrome.
The Falcon’s Nest is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families impacted by Down Syndrome. We raise funds and awareness to provide resources, support, and opportunities for those with Down syndrome to reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.
Through advocacy, education, and community outreach, we strive to break down barriers and promote inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome and their loved ones.
Our vision is a world where individuals with Down Syndrome can fully participate and contribute to society and are celebrated for their unique talents and abilities. We envision a future in which all individuals with Down syndrome have access to the education, healthcare, and support they need to thrive and reach their full potential.
The Falcon's Nest name is the result of a great movie, and our sweet girl joining the family.
The Peanut Butter Falcon is a movie following a man, who has Down syndrome, pursue his dream of becoming a pro wrestler, and befriending an outlaw in the process. It was a movie we watched and loved long before Colleen came bursting into the family. Once Colleen did arrive, we processed ALL the feelings - including the idea that we'd never be "empty nesters" caring for a special needs child. While sharing this notion with our dear friend Brian, he asked "Why would you want an empty nest? You get to have a Falcon's Nest!" - cementing our love for the movie about a hero with DS, and the privilege of getting to raise our daughter, extra chromosome and all.
We're grateful you're here, and appreciate the entire Falcon's Nest community for being friends, advocates and part of Colleen's nest.
